ARTHUR “Tuts” Tutani has now joined an elite company of gaffers, who have won three Division One championships.
The list has Lloyd Mutasa, John Nyikadzino, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera and Bigboy Mawiwi.
The Highfield-born mentor, might also take home the Northern Region Coach of the Year gong.
Ironically, last season, the prize was won by Saruchera.
Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Deputy Minister, Tino Machakaire, and youth empowerment leaders, Scott Sakupwanya, and Mike Chimomber, also graced the occasion as Simba Bhora sealed the league championship on Saturday.
They all hailed Simba Bhora president, Simba Ndoro, for ploughing back into his community of Shamva.
Goals from their leading marksman, Tinashe Balakasi, Simbarashe Marwidze and Dean Chunga, ignited wild scenes of jubilation as Premiership football arrived at this small mining town.
Balakasi is now on 29 goals, with one game to go.
For the first time, the country’s big three clubs, Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United will travel to the mining town for some action-packed weekends.
And, interestingly, the team has a woman who occupies its leadership structures.
Tonderai Ndoro is Simba Bhora’s vice president.
It’s another huge stride in empowering women, particularly those in sport.
She assured the fans that they have the capacity to renovate Wadzanai into a stadium which can meet PSL standards.
“We are so overwhelmed with this achievement and it’s been our wish to be promoted into the top-flight league since 2008.
“It’s another start of a new race. We need to put in more work to improve our ground.
“We have already started to implement one or two things and we are desperately trying our best to give Shamva town a good fortress.”
She acknowledged that the club owes its success to their dedicated fans.
“I just want to thank everyone who has made this achievement a reality,” she said.
“We couldn’t have made it if it was not for the amazing support the club was getting from all corners of Shamva and, of course, our different dedicated nationwide chapters.
“It has been far beyond our imagination and we are hoping to spread our brand next season, God willing.”
